The bobbles are sized for kids - smaller diameter, so you get a secure hold in three wraps instead of five.
For fine or wispy hair, the smaller clips grip close to the scalp and actually stay put - nothing sliding out by first break. For thick, curly and Afro hair, the strong bobbles and larger clips are built with sturdy elastic that holds a proper handful without snapping. And for flyaways or anything that won't sit flat, the headband does the heavy lifting - out of the eyes, no grip required.
